Position Overview:
Jordan Electric Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. This role involves processing invoices, managing payments, and ensuring that all vendor accounts are accurate and up-to-date. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts, ensuring proper documentation.
- Code and enter invoices into the accounting system for timely payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process check runs, electronic payments, and other payment methods.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and communicate effectively to resolve payment-related issues.
- Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
- Assist with month-end closing tasks, including accruals and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role, preferably in the construction or electrical contracting industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Foundation and Account Edge) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with lien waivers and construction industry payment processes (preferred).

- Experience with job cost accounting systems.
- Ability to identify process improvements and implement efficiencies.
